The Association of Consulting Engineers of Zambia (ACEZ) is a representative body for Consulting Engineers in the Country. The ACEZ was set up to amongst other objectives promote professional interests, rights, powers and advancement of the profession of Consulting Engineers, promote training of engineers, establish a code of conduct of Consulting Engineers and to serve the public in matters connected with engineering.

Membership of the ACEZ is open to all Consulting Engineers who meet the minimum requirements prescribed in the ACEZ Constitution. A copy of the ACEZ Constitution is available on request from the ACEZ Secretariat. However, the key requirements are outlined below

Natural Person

Natural Persons require membership with EIZ and EngRB prior to registration with ACEZ. After admission by ACEZ, natural persons are required to register with EngRB under the college of consulting engineers (NC1). Membership with ACEZ is mandatory for any natural person practicing engineering consultancy services in Zambia.

A.   Associate Member – Local/Foreign

Submission of completed application form accompanied by the following:

    1. Detailed Curriculum Vitae in the attached format indicating; academic qualifications including year obtained and awarding institution, professional qualifications (membership of professional associations) and relevant work experience.
    2. EIZ membership Certificate
    3. Certificate of current registration with the Engineering Registration Board
    4. Application Processing Fee Local – K1,625
    5. Application Processing Fee – Foreign US$325
    6. Upon application being successful for local/Foreign Membership fee is K 2,600

B.   Associate Member – Local/Foreign

Submission of completed application form accompanied by the following:

    1. Detailed Curriculum Vitae in the attached format indicating; academic qualifications including year obtained and awarding institution, professional qualifications (membership of professional associations) and relevant work experience minimum ten (10) years
    2. EIZ membership Certificate
    3. Certificate of current registration with the Engineering Registration Board
    4. Application Processing Fee local – K1,625
    5. Application Processing Fee Foreign -US$325
    6. Upon application being successful Local Principal/Sole Practitioner fee – K3,250
    7. Upon application being successful Foreign Principal/Sole Practitioner fee – K6,500

Legal Entity

Under the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ) Act, No. 17 of 2010 Section 19(2)(c), Consulting Engineering organisations require membership of the ACEZ prior to registration by EIZ and Engineering Registration Board Membership of ACEZ is mandatory for any organization or person practicing engineering consultancy services.

C.   Local Registered Firm

Submission of completed application form accompanied by the following:

  1. Company Registration Certificate (PACRA)
  2. Articles of Association showing the Directors and Shareholders
  3. Company Profile
  4. Application Processing Fee – K1,625.00
  5. Upon application being successful – fee K9,750

NB: Firm membership applications shall be supported by at least one Partner/Director who is registered by the Engineering Registration Board as an Engineer. The Partner/Director should meet the minimum qualifications for membership as a natural person of the ACEZ or should already be a member of the ACEZ. Where such Partner/Director is not a member of ACEZ, his/her application for membership should be attached to that for the firm/company.

D.   Foreign Registered Firm

Submission of completed application form duly signed by authorized representative (include Power of Attorney) accompanied by the following:

  1. Company Registration Certificate (in Country of origin)
  2. List of Partners/Directors including; full names, passport number, residential address and office address. Brief CV of each Partner/Director should be given.
  3. Company Profile
  4. Membership of the International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC) or member association of FIDIC or an internationally recognized professional body in the country of origin.
  5. Details of the Registered Principal, Partner or Associate who shall be a member of the ACEZ or qualify for membership of the ACEZ.
  6. Application Processing Fee US$325
  7. Upon application being successful – fee K58,500
